IYGOADTW: Summer House Drama, Zendaya’s Euphoria Return, and Olivia Rodrigo's New Single

If you're going on a date this week, where I talk about the trending topics in pop culture and entertainment in TV shows, in music, in movies, in media, in sports, in really anything that I think that you could talk about on your date for the purpose of making your date.

A little better, a little easier. Having something to talk about on your date or something you can fall back on, something that you can mention, something that you can kind of use to start a conversation or go into anywhere from that kind of topic or thing that you start talking about. So if you talk about a movie or a TV show, you can then talk about favorite TV shows or favorite shows or favorite movies or favorite concerts or favorite really whatever. And you can just kind of

go and flow from there. But I think that having something or having some sort of knowledge about what the other person is thinking about or watching or what's coming soon, something you can kind of use or mention as a conversation starter is always helpful. So that is how the podcast started and I also think it's really fun to talk about all this stuff. if you're going on a date this week, here are a few things that you could talk about.

Firstly, first up, the Summer House drama between, Summer House is a reality show, I talked about it on the last episode. I do this every Monday and Thursday as well, by the way. So every single week, every Monday and Thursday, I release an episode of If You're Going to Date This Week. So you can keep up on everything that's going on in the world, in pop culture, and you get it. Okay, so Summer House, the drama has kind of continued between

Amanda and West, who are two of the main characters on this reality show, it's on Bravo, and it's been a ten seasons running show. For the entirety of the show, Amanda and Kyle have been dating and got married, got married literally in the summer house, like in the backyard, they got married, and they got divorced this year. And Amanda got with West, who is her best friend, Sierra's ex. Like,

So it was recently seen that she was with Kyle who's her ex and he was supposedly comforting her in the midst of all of this chaos that she ensued herself like self-inflicted chaos, which you know, like I'm not one to pile on to anything because I'm sure she's going through a lot. I'm sure he's I'm sure everyone's going through a lot, know, everything everyone's always going through a lot, but

Still this is an insane thing that happened. It's an insane thing to do and Their lives happen to be televised for everybody in the world to see that's a choice that they made so that means that their choices will be judged by the public and their choices are kind of fair conversation for the court of public opinion and that is what happens when you decide to put your life online or you share pieces of your life with people

You decide to go on a reality TV show for ten seasons like people are going to judge the shit you do and you're gonna make bad decisions because we all make bad decisions then people are gonna judge those and have opinions about them and all that shit, so That's what's going on on summer house The reunion is supposed to be filming in a few weeks and that reunion is when they all talk about all the shit and yell at each other so that should be fun and Regardless, this is seriously an insane thing that they both did

West to his ex and somebody that he seemed to also still really like and like still want to be courting and wanting to be like fucking so like I don't know why he's doing that. Getting with her best friend and her to get with her best friend is no no her to get with her best friend's ex and somebody that she's still low key likes or high key in this season of the show because the show is airing right now like concurrently the show is on air so every Tuesday night people are watching.

the interactions that Amanda and West are having so differently knowing that they were sparking some sort of romance or starting to hook up or if they were hooking up at the time. So people are really hating the show right now. People are watching it so differently. People are stopping watching it. Nobody knows if the show's gonna continue after this, if it even can continue, if anybody will come back to the show. It's really like one of the craziest things that's happened in reality TV in a very long time.

since I'm sure you heard about like Tom Sandoval, who's just not, maybe you haven't, but that's like another big drama from the show called Vanderpump Rules. This one seems to be a lot bigger because they are actually friends and they're not like put on this show. Like they joined as friends and they've been real friends, it seems like at least, or it's portrayed to be. So people are saying it's the biggest kind of reality TV show drama of all time. So you could ask if you're the girl you're seeing watches Summer House and be like, heard about this crazy shit going on. Like I'd never.

on you or I'd never get with your ex. No, I don't know. Nevermind. Let me go to the next one. The next one is that Noah Khan was just on Jay Shetty today. It was on Jay Shetty's podcast called On Purpose. Noah has an album coming out April 24th and has a Netflix documentary called Out of Body coming out next Monday. I am so excited for that documentary. He is, I think, one of the most genuine

authentic, vulnerable artists that we have. I think he's especially incredible for young guys and he's just like a role model for really every guy. He talks about a lot of his mental health struggles. He talks about his body dysmorphia. He talks about the things that we don't really hear talked about for guys. So it's just incredible to get to see somebody who's so successful.

be so honest about their struggles and their vulnerabilities and the things that they don't like about themselves and the things that they still doubt about themselves and the things that they try to hide or they try to push down. He's just so real and authentic and awesome to be a fan of. So he was on that podcast today about halfway through the episode. It's like an hour and a half. So far it's been amazing and inspiring and just everything I wanted it to be and more. So that's that on Noah Khan. Next week I'll talk about his

Also, I'll be watching it and reporting on it I'll let you know what I think I probably love it because I'm seriously love everything he does the next one is Zendaya and Robert Pattinson's the drama movie made back 100 % of its budget in the first 48 hours of the movie being released, which is really crazy So the movie did so well the marketing worked they worked I mean, how could you not go see a movie with Zendaya Robert Pattinson in it? That's made by a 24 like it looks insane. Apparently it's great

The budget for the movie was $28 million and they made that all back in the first 48 hours, which is awesome. Proud of them. Happy for Zendaya and R. Pattinson. As if that wasn't going to be successful, like of course it was going to be. Zendaya is having like truly the most insane movie and TV show run. Euphoria season three premieres this Sunday, this upcoming Sunday. And she's in this movie. She's in Euphoria.

She's in Spider-Man, Brand New Day, which had the biggest release of a trailer of all time. One billion streams to the trailer is out of this world. She's in Dune. She's in the Odyssey. Like, she is in everything. Like, Zendaya is having probably the greatest year for an actress of all time. Is that an exaggeration? Probably, but I feel like it's true. Like, she is having...

the most insane cinematic run that I think I've ever seen. Like, she's in the three biggest movies of the year. Dune, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man. That is insane. Like, what? That's fucking crazy. Like, the biggest most anticipated movie launches this year. Dune, The Odyssey, The Odyssey's first, so that's in the summer. The Odyssey, then Spider-Man.

Then Dune, nobody's doing it like her. That's crazy. She is so fucking booked and busy. That's insane. And Euphoria is like also the biggest show everybody's anticipating, everybody's talking about. She's just, and the drama was really, I have to take a breath. She's just doing it differently. She is moving differently than everybody else. I don't know how her scheduler or her people made that work, that she could be in all those movies. I hope she's doing okay because that seems like a lot of time away from home.

I guess she has Tom Holland and they seem like a really solid couple. They seem like very happy and very normal at the same time as being the most abnormal couple ever. They seem really normal. So I think she's doing OK. I don't know her to ask her or know her to say that, but I feel like she's doing well and she is going to be so fucking successful. That doesn't even like matter for a little at least a little bit. She could take the next like five years. She could probably retire. Not that she would, because like she's in all these insane movies and getting amazing opportunities. I would literally never retire. OK.

I need to take a breath. The next one is I was going to say that Euphoria season three premieres this Sunday, but I said it in the midst of my Zendaya excitement. Sabrina Carpenter just launched her music video or just launched released her music video for her song House Tour featuring Madeline Klein and Margaret Qualley, who that's insane. That's fucking insane. Like three of the prettiest girls ever on the planet right now in a music video together for the song House Tour.

That is a sexual innuendo for sex. So I'm gonna watch that. haven't watched it yet. So that's something to be aware of. Sabrina Carpenter's always doing something crazy and fun. Savannah Guthrie, wow, that's a tough transition. That was awkward. Returns to the Today Show after I think it was two months off because of her mom's, this is a bad transition. God, I need to order these better. After her mom's kidnapping.

Nobody kind of knew if she would or won't go back to the show and she has gone back to the show today. I think that is like so unbelievably like resilient and like an incredible example that somebody can go through one of the most unimaginable experiences in life and return back to what they do because you have to at some point and resume some sense of normalcy in this.

most insane thing that anybody could probably ever go through is like being unsure about what the whereabouts of their mother are like ever knowing it's just it's so fucking insane the whole Savannah Guthrie mom situation. So she returned to the Today Show. Again I apologize for the transition from Sabrina Carpenter's house tour music video with Madeline Klein and Margaret Quailey to Savannah Guthrie's return on the Today Show but that is just what you can expect around here if you're going on a date this week because they're all topics they're all things that are going on.

that you could be aware of that you might want to know that I provide. Olivia Rodrigo is teasing her next or her first single off of her new album that she announced last week called You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love. The album is coming out June 12th and she today is now teasing her first single from the album. Some people are predicting it's going to be called Lock It or it's going to be called Lock.

Love lock. don't know. I made up those last three. Actually, it was just lock it that I saw and then I made up the rest of them. But she is teasing her first single that probably comes out this Friday or next Friday. So that's exciting. New live music. I love Olivia Rodrigo. I get to I got to see her in concert. I made a video on TikTok being like I would love to go see Olivia Rodrigo, but I am so far from the target demographic of her audience of like tween girls.

And her team reached out and this is when I didn't have that many followers. They reached out and they're like, we'd love to send you and a friend to any city you want of the Olivia Rodrigo tour. And I was like, what the fuck are you talking about? So I went with my sister and we had the greatest time I think I've ever had at a concert at the Olivia Rodrigo concert. I sat behind Benson Boone and his girlfriend. And I sat in front of Conan Gray. And it was just like, it was in like the celebrity section. There was nobody else in our row. Like we had.

It was just like the other people must not have come, but like it was the most fun I've ever had at a concert. We were screaming our lungs out. All of these songs, like she has such bangers. So I feel like everybody loves Olivia Rodrigo and everybody loves like Drivers License and Vampire and like, God, that concert was so fun. It was the Guts Tour. can't wait. I will, I will be at the next tour. Like I had the greatest time and I'm always shouting out.

Livy's HQ because they invited me and we had the greatest night of our lives. So she's teasing a new single and a new album coming soon. Haley Steinfeld and Josh Allen had a baby. Yay. Blake Lively's lawsuit or the lawyer in the case dropped a lot of the sexual harassment suits that she had against Justin Baldoni. So I think there's three remaining. That's just.

That's just something to be aware of. I wouldn't talk about that on a date. I would not bring that up on a date. I'm not even gonna talk about it here. I don't even know what to say about it. I'm not going to anymore. I'm just gonna tell you that it happened. And then the first trailer for the Lord of the Flies TV show is coming to Netflix. It dropped today and it's based on a classic book called The Lord of the Flies. I'm sure you've heard, or just Lord of the Flies, know the, maybe the, I don't know.

Coming to Netflix May 1st and it dropped today. The trailer looks amazing. It kind of looks like everything we're missing now that Stranger Things has ended. It looks like a mystery thriller kind of like I don't know what happens. I've never read the book. Maybe I should before the movie comes out. It looks amazing. I'm so excited about it. And then there is a book going really viral right now called Strangers by Bell Burden. It is about her husband

like just randomly deciding to leave her in COVID and admitting that he's been cheating on her, leaves her with her three kids, says like, I don't really want anything to do with the kids. You can keep them, you can have custody. You can keep the house and just like the unraveling of that and not signing a prenup correctly and just all that that comes with it. Gwyneth Paltrow was announced as starring in the movie adaption of the book. That book is just going really.

really viral right now, everybody's talking about it. I just started listening to it. I would say reading it, but I'm listening to it. It's called strangers. that's something else that, the girls are reading. and those are the topics I think that you could talk about on your date and you can use any of them in any way and just like, like, I saw that this thing is happening. Or I heard that this, or I saw that this on tick tock or I saw this any way you want to do it. Anything like, I think it's always great to just have

One or two of these in your back pocket. Know what's going on in the world. Know what you're the person you're dating or talking to might also be watching, seeing, listening to whatever. so those are the things that you could talk about on your date this week.
