IYGOADTW: Olivia Rodrigo’s New Album, Summer House Drama, Alex Cooper’s New Show

Welcome back to my new show, If You're Going On A Date This Week, where I talk about everything that's going on in the world in terms of pop culture, music, movies, TV shows, media, sports, entertainment, really anything that's going on in the world that I think you could talk about on your date. This idea for this podcast, this is the fourth ever episode of the podcast.

Started out because one of the hardest or most anxiety inducing parts of dating is what to talk about on a date. So I thought it would be fun to talk about the five to seven pop culture, media, music, TV, movies, TV shows, you get it, things going on in the world a couple times a week. And I've been doing it for about a year on Instagram and TikTok and it's done really well. And it's been a pretty viral concept.

So I thought might as well start doing it two times a week because there are so many things going on in the world that are always happening and it's just good to stay up to date and like just know what the other person that you're seeing might be watching, thinking about, listening to, reading, just what's going on in their head. So we can level the playing field so that you can know what to talk about. And all of these kind of conversation topics or things going on in the world.

can be used to parlay into any other conversation. So when you talk about Olivia Rodrigo's new album announcement, you can talk about what concerts the other person is seeing this year, what they're looking forward to, what their favorite artist is, or who their favorite artist is, what their favorite album is recently, like who's doing it well in music. And you can just kind of talk about all these different things that can be the whole conversation topic for your date, like.

that can end up being a half an hour conversation or an hour conversation. And it just kind of flows and goes into different directions and questions based on one topic or one main thing or one starting point. So having one or two of these in your back pocket, I think is one of the best ways to feel less anxious when you go on a date, feel like you have something to say and something that you can fall back on at any time.

good things going on or just good things to know about what's going on in the world and I am always up to date so you can come back here anytime for an update. the first one is Olivia Rodrigo literally just announced her album it's called You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love. It's long that's a lot of words that is like a thousand words. Most of her actually she's only had two albums so far both of her albums so far

have been one word with four letters. The first one was called sour and then the second one was called guts. So everybody kind of assumed that this album was going to be another one four letter word. People thought it was gonna be called luck. People thought it was gonna be called love. Nobody really expected it to be this long combobulated title. You seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. I think the title is awesome. I really like it. You never know her next move. And I kind of love the idea that she was just like, you thought it was gonna be another four letter word.

Fuck it, I'm gonna do it 17 letter word or like a 17 word phrase. I think that's a great I just think it's fun to keep people on their toes and you just never know what you're do next The album comes out June 12th. That is literally all we know She dropped it actually at 12 today, and I'm recording that within the hour So you are up to date on this one Olivia Rodrigo's new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love June 12th June 12th, I wrote 121 but

and I got confused, June 12th. People have been for this album for a long time. She's been painting this wall in think Miami for like a month now, just like different colors, keeping people on their toes. People are literally watching paint dry to find out what this album is called and when it is dropping. And today she was just like, fuck it, surprise, you've seen pretty sad for girls who are in love. So.

That is something that you could know or you could talk about. And I think this is a great way to be like, Oh, did you see that? Or like if she brings it up or music, you can be like, Oh, I saw that Olivia Rodrigo just announced a new album. Like, are you a fan? Are you going to go to their next tour? Um, what kind of music do you like? Who are your favorite artists? What concerts have you seen so far? What's your favorite concert you've ever been to? Just a great conversation starter and a great topic for the next like few months. You could talk about this until like the album comes out. I feel like it's just a great thing to be like, Oh, I saw that she has a new album coming out and the girl will be like, you listen.

to the news, like you know what's going on. The news, you know what's going on, like wow, okay, cool. And I just think it's a great thing, easy topic. And at the same time, I feel like everybody knows this type of stuff and guys kind of shy away from it and just always just like, like I didn't see that Olivia Rodrigo. Yes, you did. Like it's gonna be all over your Instagram feed. Like everybody's gonna see this at some point. So you could just be honest about it. The next one is a massive piece of drama from

the show Summer House, which I happen to watch all 10 fucking seasons of this show. I'm an avid Summer House watcher. I started watching it actually like two years ago when I was sick one day. I was like, this should be like a fun nothing burger watch. 10 seasons later, I'm still watching. It's truly one of the most entertaining shows on TV. But the main story is that Amanda and West hooked up. They are two of the main cast members on the show.

Amanda just got divorced from Kyle. was announced like two months ago. It was announced after the season, like it was like right before the season was supposed to come out. So like a month or two ago and she just got divorced. She had been married for 10 years to Kyle who's kind of like the star of the show and her best friend on the show and it seems to be in real life but you never know it's reality TV. Her best friend on the show is named Sierra. Sierra has had a

three to four year long situationship relationship with this guy named West. West is one of those like New York City influencer guys. He's friends with like Fibula and all those people. So he is in his own right. He works for like Complex Magazine, stuff like that. He's also on the show. He's been on the show for about three or four years now. So he has had a like kind of tumultuous situationship with this girl Sierra. They were

He was pretty like head over heels for her in season one and she was kind of playing hard to get. It turns out that she went and met his parents and went back home with him and he like dumped her shortly after and she was like, fuck you. I never want to talk to you again. Next season comes and like I feel like I'm actually very primed to give you all the information on this story. If you're like, what is going on in the summer house Bravo situation world? I got you. Like this is one of the stories that I do not need Google for. I don't need anybody else for. I got you on this one.

So the next season he was kind of like groveling for her and being like I'm so sorry like what can I do just like be friends again like I feel so terribly and like kind of playing like the sad puppy dog roll around the house and everyone's like like okay like like you fucked her over so you get to feel bad about it and Now she's kind of forgiven him and this season that's currently airing the weird part about reality TV in this show is that the season that is currently airing

He and Sierra are flirting on the show right now. Like it really does seem like they are going to get into a relationship again from this current season. Like he is like cuddling with her, he's touching her leg, he's being super touchy, and she really likes him too. Like she's always liked him even though he fucked her over. Like she still likes him and she's kind of dealing and grappling with those emotions because she feels so bad about it at the same time. So, not that she feels bad, no, she is sad. She's just like sad about this whole thing. So.

It seems like in the current show that they are gonna hook up again. Flash forward to today, present day, like three days ago, Amanda, who just got divorced, and West, who is dating slash has dated slash in this situationship with Amanda's best friend, announced that they are in a relationship, Amanda and West. That is fucking insane. Like, the way I describe it is like, think about you and if you had a girlfriend,

and then your best friend had a girlfriend, you both broke up, you got with your best friend's girlfriend. That is how you would make your best friend feel. Like that is the situation that you'd be putting your best friend in for the whole world to see. That is what is going on right now with Amanda and West and Sierra. So Amanda has like completely fucked over her best friend. West has fucked over this girl that he has continued to fuck over for the past three years. So like that's nothing new for this girl, but it's just like

The biggest girl on girl crime, like the worst friend thing you could potentially possibly ever do to a friend is get with the person that they were, slash are still in love with. Super fucked up. Kyle, who was Amanda's ex-husband, came out recently and was like, please stop dogpiling onto Amanda. Like she deals with a lot, she's going through a lot, but it's like.

Yikes, just a big fat yikes. So if you're wondering what was going on in summer house with the Amanda and West situation, Bravo, that whole reality TV world, that is what's going on. I have never felt more like my 10 seasons of watching the show have been more relevant. And you can tell through my passion about talking about this that I feel so equipped finally that like, this has come to use. Actually, it's been entertainment for so long, but this is really, really, really crazy. It's insane.

And that is that on that. I thought this episode was gonna be like not a lot to talk about by the way and there seems to be so much to talk about especially thank you to Olivia Rodrigo for announcing your album right before I started recording. The next story is that Alex Cooper's Unwell Network announced a competition show on YouTube next week and it's featuring kind of like all these reality TV villains like Anna Delvey who got arrested for like frauding all these like massive corporations and banks.

She's on it. Huda from last season is on it. The guy from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives who is dating, no, no, slash like used to date a baby daddy of the girl Taylor Frankie Paul who was the bachelorette. I feel like I'm messing up this story. Dakota who is Taylor Frankie Paul's ex-husband or baby daddy or something, one of those.

Also on the show so everyone's like well how can he be on this show if she got her whole season of the Bachelorette canned? It's just two separate worlds right like unwell is a network that's run by Alex Cooper and her own kind of like people It's it's not a massive corporation. That's ABC owned by Disney Bob Iger like it is not It is not the unwell network so the unwell network can do whatever the fuck they want basically ABC and Disney abide by a lot different rules and have like a lot more

It's like they're just two completely separate standards I think unwell versus ABC Disney conglomerate like so that's that on that if you're seeing what's going on there that probably isn't one to talk about on a date That's just like a story John summit headlined ultra

I think the John Summit story and the pipeline of going from accountant to one of the biggest DJs in the world headlining the largest EDM festival rave ever, Ultra, is just so cool. Like, seeing that you can really pursue your dreams to the highest level if you believe in yourself.

The John Summitt story, I think, is really inspiring and just really cool to watch and see and continue to watch him thrive and do what he does best. Like, going from an accountant at 22 years old to now, like, one of the biggest DJs in the world, is an insane story and I love following his story and watching his sets and I think he's amazing. I think his music is really awesome. So,

Yeah, I've any time I can talk about the John Summit pipeline of accountant to one of the biggest fucking DJs in the world. I will talk about it. I think it's so cool. and like, it's just a message in you literally can do whatever you want if you set your mind to it. And if you believe in yourself, like there is nothing holding you back. And the only thing holding you back is your fear for other people will think of you and what other people actually do think of you. Like those are the two things that are going to hold you back from pursuing your dreams or chasing your dreams or doing what you want to do.

because I'm certain there were so many naysayers and people that were like, you are an accountant, like what are you talking about, you wanna be a DJ? And people are probably like, okay, you're fucking weird, I don't what wanna do. There were probably so many people that were like, this is so fucking stupid. And yet, he has now become one of the biggest DJs in the world. So never listen to the people that say you can't do what you wanna do. The next one, that was just like my little inspirational message for today.

The next one is Tiger Woods. The footage from Tiger Woods is DUI arrest. He wasn't actually drinking. He was on pills. So it's still driving under intoxication in one way or another. The footage from his car crash has come out like the cop footage. Nothing so different there. Like the car was flipped at 2 p.m. in Jupiter, Florida. Like it's just like a really crazy story. I saw one tweet that says Tiger Woods is simultaneously the best and the worst driver in the world. That was really funny.

But no, in all seriousness, he's taking a break from golf to seek treatment and help. So I'm happy to hear that he is taking this seriously. prayers to Tiger Woods and his family. Sorry. And then the next one is that Noah Khan announced the track list for his new album, The Great Divide, that he sent his, like a bunch of like super fans puzzle pieces and like patches.

that basically spelled out what the track list for the album was going to be. So they each got like one patch that said a track list and they had to like piece together what the track list was going to be. It was a really cool way to get the fans involved and like the community involved in unveiling the track list. I really loved watching the people get so excited. They were like, I received a package from Noah Khan. Like, what's it going to be? And they like opened and they all put it together online. It was really fun to watch. So he announced the full track list for his album, The Great Divide, that comes out on April 20th. Hold on. Fuck. How do I not know when his album is

and now I think it's April 21st, but like I'm usually wrong. Noah Khan album. He also has a Netflix documentary coming out called Out of Body on April, I don't know actually, it's in two Mondays from now, but I really love any time we get to see the behind the scenes of the rise to fame of any of the biggest artists right now. I always think whenever an artist puts out a documentary,

It's so inspiring. It's so cool to watch and see behind the scenes. Some of them are much better than others. And I just really feel like when they're incredibly vulnerable, when and when the moment is captured correctly, whenever they get the right moment in a documentary, it's just one of these like outstanding documentaries and it won an award at South by Southwest. So I really think it's going to be one of those documentaries that you're like, wow, I got to see everything.

It's going into the behind the scenes of his rise to fame with stick season. And it was just like this astronomical rise to fame that he experienced from putting out his first couple albums to when stick season came out. He blew up on TikTok with the song stick season. If you don't know it, it's like, as she promised me that I was more than all the miles combined, you must have had yourself. I should get to the chorus. I don't know why I'm starting from the top.

Cause I love her mom, but it's the season of the sticks and I saw your mom, she forgot that I exactly. You've definitely heard that song before. Stick Season by Noah Khan was like the song that blew him up. And then that whole album just became a massive, massive success. He released the entire album again with a bunch of features. He did Kacey Musgraves, Gracie Abrams, think Mumford, I'll just go into who actually did. Hold on, let me find when the album was. I was just stalling for time and.

I tried to type in Noah Khan album and I wrote Noah L A H S N B U So I didn't even get close and I was just filling in the time by singing stick season. That was crazy. Noah Khan album release. April 24th. It's called the Great Divide on April 24th and I actually got to hear some of the songs early. I got invited by MasterCard to Nashville to

listened to the songs with Noah Khan and his producer Gabe in the studio where they finished the album in Nashville and we heard like five or six songs and then they both got guitars down from the wall. They're like, you want to see how the great divide was made? And they were like, actually, why don't you just come with us? And they sang four of the songs to us. It was truly one of the most insane experiences I've ever experienced ever. Like I'll never forget it. And at the same time, I was in utter and complete shock the entire time that I like think I blacked out for some of it.

We got to meet him after I panicked and told him I liked his shoes asked him where he got them from and he told me where they were from and I was like so like what size should I get like I just like panicked I was like do they run and he was like they actually run like a little big so I'd size down and I was like I'm an 11 like what should I get and he was like 10.5 He was like I'm 11 and a half so like I got an 11 so like maybe 11.5 for you I was like cool cool cool thanks Noah Khan
