The Unwritten Rules of Dating
TRANSCRIPT
There are so many different things that nobody explicitly tells you how to do or what to do or outlines for you what would be helpful in order to handle this situation or in order to go into this situation, knowing everything you could know to get the best outcome, to figure it out, to help you kind of navigate through it.
And I think one of the biggest ones is dating. Like there is no explicit rule book or guidebook or guideline on how to properly do a first date or handle a first date or go into a first date, like the mindset to bring into a first date. There's nobody that really explicitly sits you down at any time in your life and is like, okay, so if you're going on a first date, here is what would be helpful to know. Like if you're going to take a girl out, or if you're gonna ask a girl out, like
Here are some things you could do that will make the experience better, that will make you look better, that will make her more attracted to you or more excited by you or more into you. Like, here are some things that you could do that will make this experience just all around better and will make like moving forward in this relationship better, that will make everything better. Overall, it will be better if you know how to do these things. And maybe you were lucky enough to have an older brother or a sibling or somebody that
gave you some things about here's how to handle this or here's how to make this easier or a parent that helped you out or a friend that like gave you some advice. But for the most part, most people have not been given advice in a lot of different scenarios or situations about how to handle this or how to navigate this or give you an outline for it. And
This has been one of like the guiding principles of Guyset, and it will be one of the guiding principles of Guy Set forever, that nobody really tells you what to do or how to do it, and it would be helpful to get advice on a lot of these different scenarios. And in thinking about this all, it kind of inspired me to create a new series called The Unwritten Rules of Blank.
Josh Felgoise (02:31.76)
And give you what I think should be if there were written rules on how to do this thing or how to address or handle or navigate this specific thing. And this one, the first one I'm gonna do of this series, is called The Unwritten Rules of Dating or The Unwritten Rules of First Dates.
And I think that this will be really helpful for you if you're starting dating, if you've never ever gone on a first date, if you have gone on many first dates, but you want like a refresher or a reminder or maybe another guy's opinion on what to do that will make this all easier and better for you. And I don't have all of the answers to all of this, but I do have my experience up until now. And I have spent a lot of time like researching and listening and
Getting all these other people's advice and opinions on what to do and all these other podcasters and all the advice that's out there on social media. I've spent a ton of time kind of like accumulating all of that knowledge and kind of bringing it to you in in this way with what I have also learned, with what I have learned up until now in my own dating life, in my own personal life, what I have done, the mistakes I've made, and what I have learned up until now that I think will be helpful to you.
And I think that if you don't know any of this yet, if you don't like if you listen to this episode and you're like, fuck, I haven't been doing any of that, that's totally fine. Because as I said, as I started this episode by saying, like, there is nobody that tells you what to do. There is nobody that tells you how to do this, how to navigate this. None of us have that for ourselves. So it's totally fine if you have not done these things up until now. But I think after you hear this episode, it will hopefully
inspire you or make you feel that you want to make these changes or or help you to know what to do now or know what to do going forward. And you will leave here, you will leave this episode feeling more prepared for your next date. That is my hope for this episode. That's my hope for you after listening to this episode. And that is what I think I can give you in this episode. I also think that more importantly, you will leave this episode feeling more confident about what you're going to do. Like
Josh Felgoise (04:49.377)
The biggest thing about knowing a little bit more about what to do or how to navigate these scenarios is the confidence that knowing a little bit more gives you. It kind of creates a new mindset, a new mentality around entering this situation or entering this next thing in this scenario, entering the table that you're gonna be at or the bar that you're going to. Like you gain a newfound confidence.
To go on this date knowing that you've already made some right steps, knowing that you've already done some good things that will help your kind of goodwill with the girl you're seeing or whoever you're seeing. Knowing that whatever you've done up until this point is the best things you or are the best things that you could do and are setting you up for success. And I think that that new mindset, that new mentality of confidence.
makes you feel better about yourself and helps you to be more yourself on this date. Because that is the goal. The goal of any date is for you to be completely yourself, which is so hard because you're gonna be nervous, you're gonna be a little anxious. Everybody is, everybody has, and everybody will be. That is just the truth and the matter of first dates. But knowing a few things going into it or how to navigate a little bit better will help you feel more confident going into the date.
Knowing these things, and that is what these things did for me, and I think what I can give to you two. So let's get into it. The unwritten rules of dating. The first one, and if you take nothing else away from this episode, it should be this. And this is why I wanted to start with this, because I think it's the most important thing. You could turn the episode off after this, but I don't recommend you do that because I want you to stay and I want you to enjoy the rest of the episode with me. Thanks for staying. Is that
You should, and you must, I'm gonna say you must, because I really do believe in this one, confirm the date, the morning of the date. I think, again, if you take nothing else away from this episode, it is that by like 10 a.m., maybe latest 11 a.m., confirm the date with the person you're seeing. A quick text, hey, are we still on for tonight? Can't wait to see you, is all you need to do.
Josh Felgoise (07:01.195)
Also, another way of phrasing it, like, hey, just checking that we're still good for tonight, or hey, just checking that you're still available tonight, excited to see you. That is the text I would send. And then when she responds, you can then say, like, great, looking forward to it. See you at 7:30. It takes all of the guesswork out of this. It takes every anxiety, every nerve, every extra nerve, because you're still gonna feel anxious and anxious and anxiety-ish about the date.
And by doing this, by confirming the date, by confirming a time, by letting her know that you're still on, that you have this thing going on tonight, it not only lowers the nerves and the anxiety levels, but it does something that we don't really think it does, but it does something very important for both of you. And that is it gives you something to look forward to and something to be excited about throughout the rest of the day. Now from 10 a.m. on till 7 p.m.
You are both excited for this thing. Rather than feeling nervous that maybe it's not on, maybe they're gonna cancel last minute, maybe they're gonna fake being sick. What did I do wrong? Why don't they like me? What have I done? What did I say? What did I do? What did I not do? All of the spirals and all the water slides that we can go down in our head of all the different things we did wrong and things we should have done differently. You know, like that is all taken out by this quick confirmation text. Hey, are we still on tonight? Looking forward to seeing you.
Hey, making sure we're still good for tonight. Excited to see you. Perfect. Like that is the text I would send, or those are the variations of the text I would send. Of course, put your own personal spin on it, or take exactly what I said. Like, you can do that too. No hard, no, like please. This is like I'm I'm giving you a little bit of a playbook of of what to do, I would say. And feel free to take any of this. Feel free to take all of this I would recommend. But again, it's totally up to you. It just
Kind of creates a feeling of excitement for both of you, something to look forward to, which I think makes the experience so much better. It's not only about confirming the date, it is also about feeling excited about something and feeling like there is a potential in this thing. You know, like feeling like the person you are going to see could be this completely new possibility for both of you, that this could be something real.
Josh Felgoise (09:20.973)
Something that you both really want to see forward and see through and becomes something much more. And I think you must make sure that you do this. I'm saying must because I really do believe this one. Just make sure you don't miss this part of the lead up, the excitement, like the energy around the date that you get to create by doing this, that you can actively create. Like that is what I'm saying. By sending this confirmation text, it's not only like a hey, are we still on? It's like a
Hey, I'm creating, I'm cultivating an energy for this date that we're both excited for it, that we're both looking forward to it. It not only gets rid of some of the nerves and the anxiety, but it also creates this energy that you want. And it gives you this leg up over a lot of other people because not everybody does this. Not everybody does this confirmation text. Not everybody, not everybody has the foresight to be like, I should confirm the date, but you do because you listen to this and you want to get better and you want the advice and you want to learn how to navigate this all better. So
You are already in a league ahead of the rest of the guys that aren't doing this. By sending a confirmation text, by saying to the girl, hey, I value your time. I value you. I don't even know you yet, but I want you to know that I value you and your time. Hey, I wanna make sure that you feel comfortable, that you're excited about this. Hey, I wanna make sure that you don't feel anxious or nervous. That is what you can do with a confirmation text. Make sure you do it. Do not rob yourself of all of those things by forgetting to do it.
Or by doing it later in the day. Same scenario or all of that applies to doing it too late in the day by waiting till two or three or five p.m., you still create that nervous, anxious, you kind of like give that nervous, anxious energy credence by doing that, by making her be like, Is it still on? Does he still want to see me? Am I doing this tonight? She could also want to cancel by that point and be like, hey, he didn't value my time or me at this point. So like I
Made other plans or I don't want to do this and I'm gonna say I made other plans and I don't wanna do like don't rob yourself of that. So do it in the morning. Make sure she feels like you don't have to do it at 8 a.m. or seven, just do it at a time that you feel I would just say 10, 10 a.m., 10 to 11. That's your window to do this. I'm gonna try and take the guesswork out of a lot of these things. So 10 to 11 a.m. of the day of the date, send a text saying, Hey, looking forward to tonight, making sure we're still on, like excited to see you, whatever you wanna say. And get doing it too late is the same.
Josh Felgoise (11:42.955)
Is just creating that ener that bad energy. And yeah, you get to give yourself all of these things by sending that text. So make sure you send the text. The next one is preparing for the date. I have done a bunch of episodes on preparing for first dates. And I I always revisit that topic because I think it's an important one. And I think that this is a topic that there is there will always and is always somebody looking for. There is always somebody looking for first date advice or
Just like a bit of a refresher or something to listen to before the next first date to be like, okay, now I feel better. Now I feel more confident. Now I know that I've done I've done the checklist of things I should do. Because a lot of the times the girl you're seeing or whoever you're seeing is spending so much time getting ready for the date. And it is like we have such little things to do. We have so, so little to do before the date. We have to poop, we have to shower, we have to smell good, we have to brush our teeth or floss or get it get the shit out of our teeth. We have to cut our nails.
We have to put on a nice outfit and we're out the door. It takes us 15 minutes. Tops. Like tops. We can be sitting on the couch like scratching our butt until 15. Like, shit, it's 15 minutes and then we have to we have to go. They're spending so much time. So it's like the least we can do is get to the date early. You know, like I I think that is something that everybody, everybody should do, every guy should do is get to the date date early. five, 10 minutes before. You don't have to do anything crazy, but just like make sure you're if you call it for 7:30, make sure you're there at 725 latest.
Make sure that you are there waiting for her when she gets there. Even before that, jumping back a little bit, the things I was saying about do like make make sure you are showering, shitting, shaving, cologne all before the date. I think cologne goes a long way. smelling good goes a very long way into getting somebody to be into you or getting somebody excited about you. And it's not like a magic trick you're pulling out of a hat. It's something very quickly like easy that you can do. Make sure you're wearing deodorant, make sure you're wearing cologne.
make sure you're cutting your na fingernails before a date. You don't have like shit in your nails that or that they're too long and like gross. do your hair if you do gel in your hair or whatever it is, like make sure your hair looks nice. I also would say pants or jeans are a requirement. No shorts, definitely no shorts on a date. I would also say like no flip flops, no sandals, like a closed toed shoe is also a requirement of mine.
Josh Felgoise (14:04.013)
This is my advice. and I would say that, like, I'm not saying for somebody in like California, if there's like a Cali dude listening, hey, hey, Shaka. yeah, but like everybody else, yeah, even you, you know, close your fucking toes. Like put on some shoes. yeah, and smell nice, look nice. That's the least we can do. And get there early. Get there five to ten minutes early. And now let's go to when she gets there. When she gets to the date.
Like you you both kind of sometimes forget what you look like because maybe you met on a map or something. But like make sure you're looking up and you're present and you're kind of waiting for her. You're not like on your phone slouched back, like hand in your pants, like scrolling Instagram, scrolling like the rest of the people on hinge. Like make sure you are kind of active and present and
waiting for her, attentive, that it looks like you're there waiting for her. And when she gets there, give her a little wave or whatever it is, and then get up and give her a hug. Make sure you're getting up from the table to give her a hug. Not a side hug, not like a half. Give her a hug. Like I think it's a that's a nice way to initiate the date. And then I would say the gentlemanly things like pulling out the chair, holding the door, do those to the best of your ability.
I don't think you have to do it if it's gonna create like an awkward thing where like you trip over like the stool or like her bag falls on the floor and then you fall on the floor. Like, do it if it's available and it's easy and it's accessible. That means like pulling out the chair, holding the door. Like, there's this really funny thing that happens at some restaurants or some bars where there's like a first door and then and then there's a second door. So you hold the first door for her, and then she's stuck in this like vestibule, and then there's a second door, and you're like, hold you like fucking throw her to the side to try and grab the second door.
You know, like you wanna be a gentleman, but you wanna be a gentleman to an extent. So if you're doing it to the point where you're throwing her against the wall to try and like open the door for her, don't do that. Like make sure you're doing it with like, you know, you know, just just try and be a gentleman in the best way possible, holding the door, pulling out the chair, without making a scene, most importantly. and then on the date, you're gonna be nervous. That's what comes with the first date, it comes with the territory.
Josh Felgoise (16:14.251)
The best way to kind of ease the nerves, I think, is to ask questions. I think this is also one of the biggest criticisms that girls give guys on dates is that they don't ask questions. They wait for the girl to facilitate the date because they know that the girl is gonna ask questions. So knowing that girls are saying that about us, or knowing that girls are saying that about guys, ask questions. It's also the best way to like e get rid of the tension, ease the tension.
And make you both feel more confident. Just kind of keep asking questions. Not to the point where you have like a light over her and you're like, so did you commit the murder? Like to the point where you're like asking questions to try and get to know her, what she likes, where she lives, what she likes to do, what she wants to do, what she likes to do on the weekend, where she likes to eat, what she likes to watch, what she likes to listen to, and ask follow-up questions. Like it doesn't have to be like a boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, like a one, two, three, four. It could be like a
So, like, you like this show? Then, like, have you seen this thing? Or, you like this food? Have you tried this place? Like, asking follow-up questions and creating a kind of flow of conversation is important. And that is the best way to create conversation. If you don't know what to say, if you don't know what to do or what you should be talking about, ask questions. That will create the conversation for you. And then, of course, I'm I want to just throw this in, but like to the best of your ability, try to be you.
Try to be yourself. There's always gonna be a bit of you wanna be a little more confident, you wanna sit up a little bit straighter than you usually do, but and but you you do want that. You wanna present the best version of yourself. But you also really wanna be yourself. And you wanna be who they're going to date and not somebody that you're putting on a character or a face or a front. So to the best of your ability, try to be yourself. Of course, as you're gonna sit up a little taller in that kind of in in every regard, you're gonna like
Try and be a little bit more presentable than the person they will know in a year from now. And that of course takes more comfortability and that comes with time. But in the first date, try to be yourself to the best of your ability. And on the date, whatever setting you're in, match what they're doing. So if she wants to get a second drink and you're into the date, I would get a second drink. Or if you want to get like make sure you're matching that. So
Josh Felgoise (18:35.263)
I would say if you're going on a drink state, make sure you're getting the same amount of drinks. You're not getting seven, and she has two, and you're blackout drunk, and you're on the floor, and she's like stepping over your dead body. And she's like, I'm gonna go, by the way. But like it was okay to meet you. Like, make sure you're matching it. I would also set yourself a limit of two drinks on a first date. I think a two-date two drink date rule is a good rule to have for yourself, a good rule of thumb to keep. That also kind of keeps the time.
to like an hour or an hour and a half, and it's not this like big commitment where you have to like I've been on a date before where she's like, I want to get like would you want to get a third drink? And I'm kind of like I'm I'm I'm good. I'm sorry. I I have to get up early tomorrow for work and like that's when you know, you know? so I I think two drinks is a good thing, and then you're like, hey, do you wanna get head out or do you wanna like whatever it is, you want to get the check? speaking of check, if you asked.
on the date, you pay for the date. I think that is a also very good dating rule of thumb, a good written rule of dating, is that if you asked to go on the date, you should pay for the date. That also simplifies it all. if you're asking this person out, you should pay for whatever activity or whatever thing that you are bringing them to. You're also the one choosing the location and the place and that is on you. It's your responsibility especially for a first date, also for a second date. So you should be the one paying.
And I think that goes for kind of everything. I jumped ahead a little bit, but I it was a it was a good transition period. I had to I had to use it. on the date, don't go on your phone. You don't need to go on your phone. and also don't talk shit about things and people. I think that is a really bad look on a first date. Like, don't be negative is a better way to say it. try your best to remain positive. Of course, if it's like funny and you're making a joke and you're being cynical and it's like working and it's like that's the vibe of the conversation of the date. Do that. Like this is just
These are just like overarching rules. Like don't be talking shit about like friends or exes or whatever. Like that's not a territory you want to go on on a first date at all. Avoid that at all costs. I've also been on a date where somebody has just been talking shit about friends and stuff. And I'm like, what are we doing here? Like, I don't know you. I don't want to know that you hate your college friends. Like it
Josh Felgoise (20:51.669)
You sound like the problem. If they all like each other still and you they there's something and now I'm like dissecting their her friendships. Like I don't want to do that on a first date. This is an hour long. Like, this is not the purpose. Don't get into that. Like, make sure you're not doing that. yeah, don't talk shit as a good rule, a good thing to keep in the back of your head about anything. I would try and remain positive for the most part, unless again it's funny or it's the vibe. Like, these are just
Things to keep in the back of your head. These aren't like the these aren't like scripture, you know? this is a funny one, but it has happened a bunch of times to me on first date when I have to pee, but I don't want to go to the bathroom in fear of the conversation drying up or them thinking I have to poop.
And you know, like when you're on a first date and then you see like there's like a bathroom line and you're like, well if I get in the line then she's gonna think I'm pooping because I'm waiting in this line for a long time or she's sitting there and she's thinking about the fact that like this date isn't going that well and like I'm just gonna hold my pants until I'm gonna hold my pee until I pee in my pants, you know? that's the worst thing you can do. So go to the bathroom if you have to go to the bathroom. I think that
Honestly needs to be said because I have been in this scenario so many different times. I've talked to friends about this too, and they've been in this scenario too. And I that means if we've all been in this scenario that the girl on the other side of the table has also been in this scenario where she's like, I have to pee so badly to the point where I'm gonna pee my pants and there's gonna be pee dropping down my in my shoes if I don't get up and pee. so I have to do that. But like nobody wants to get up, nobody wants to like cause that like stopping point in the conversation, especially if it's going well. because it's hard for a first date to go well, it feels like sometimes. so you don't wanna have to do that.
And you also don't want them to think you're pooping like shitting your brains out in the bathroom. So just go to the bathroom. It also like, I think my best way to reframe going to the bathroom is that it gives you like a nice reset of the date. It gives you a point where you can, if you want to check your phone, you both can. You can kind of think about how things are going or just like take a deep breath, take a reset. Going to the bathroom does that for both people. It gives you like a little bit of a reprieve from the date.
Josh Felgoise (22:52.471)
So I think if anything and you have to go really badly, think about it as that. Like, think about that, or before you have to go really badly, before you're like, I'm so sorry, I to go before you do that, just like go be like, hey, I'll be I'll be right back. I'm gonna head to the bathroom really quickly. or I'll head up. Whatever it is. Like, just just go quick, be normal. you don't have to come back and like, hey, I wasn't pooping. Ha ha ha! There was a long line. Hey, like I wasn't shitting my brain's out in there. There was a long line of people. Like, whatever it is, she'll understand. And if you were pooping, or if you if she thinks you're pooping, then like.
Oops, you pooped, you know? Like that's okay. It's fine. Everybody poops. You know, even she poops. Even Kate Upton poops. Actually, it's not confirmed. but I th I would assume. so yeah, that's a funny one, but it gives you like a nice reset or a nice regroup, and I would recommend it going to the bathroom. That kind of covers the on the date. Asking questions, I would say, is the most important thing from that section. If I had to highlight, because I'm talking a lot about a lot of different things, like
Sending the confirmation text and asking questions are the two kind of pillars of this on the rules on unwritten rules of dating. Those are kind of the two. I have one more coming up and I will review all three when I get there, but I wanted to take a second to be like one, two. You know, everything else can can kind of figure itself out, but those two you need to remember. The next one.
Is make sure this is three. I should have just said it was three. Three's next. The next one is to make sure she got home safely. Send a text just being like, and and say that when you're leaving, just be like, Hey, text me when you get home, or hey, want to make sure you got home safe. Send that text a a little bit later, like after she either Ubers home or you walk her to a cab or a car or whatever it is, send that text being like, Hey, just wanted to make sure you got home safe. Let me know. Or hey, had a really great time with you, just checking to make sure you got home s safe.
that is a great text to send. And it gives her the feeling like, this is a good guy. This is a good guy right here. Like, this isn't some like scummy scumbag. I'm seeing a good person and I want to see that person again. And this is kind of the part two of that. If you want a second date and you want to go on a second date, you have to be the one to initiate it. She's not gonna do it for the most part.
Josh Felgoise (25:08.737)
So either later that night when she responds to that text saying, Hey, got just got home safely, like, thanks, had a great time. you then can send something or should send something if you want a second date, saying, like, I had a really great time with you too, would love to take you on another date soon, or would love to go out with you again next week. Something like that. Or if you want to do that in the morning, that's totally fine too. You can just like heart the message that kind of gives like a little bit of like a will he, won't he type vibe.
But if you're serious about this person and you want to show her that you like her and your intentions are there and you want to see her again, I would send it that night. I would just say, Hey, I had a r I had a really great time with you too, or I had a really great time with you, would love to take you out again soon, or would love to take you out again next week, or would love to go on another date next week or something like that. again, phrasing is up to interpretation, up to whatever you want to say, whatever feels most natural to you. But I think
Sending that text shows intent and excitement and that you want to see her again and you like this and and you're into this. And I think that it gives this like really great like blanket on the night. It's like, like this went really well. Like that person's into me. I'm into her. Like, great. Like this is perfect. Like that, like we're good. We this this is exciting. We're both looking forward to the next one. We're both going to bed with a smile on our face about this thing. Or we're waking up with a smile on our face when we see that text from the person in the morning. Like it's that
Like the it it's this like best part about all of this is that when you're first starting to see somebody and the spark starts to come up and like those like embers are starting in the fire and it's like, like this is really exciting. Like I really like her. And she's over there in the other side of town and she's like, I really like him. Like this is great, like this really could be something. I could really see this sap I could really see this. Like, don't
not give yourself those moments and that experience, like the first kind of sparks of dating. That is one of the most exciting parts of all of this. And these are the things that you can do if you do these things. These are the things that you can create if you do these things. these are the things you can give yourself and give to the other person, which overall is a thing you're giving each other. It's like a together thing because you're in this together. You're in this with the other person. So you're kind of c cultivating
Josh Felgoise (27:26.421)
A really great energy for both of you, that you're both excited for the next date. You're both texting back and forth. You're thinking about the other person throughout the day. You're excited. You're energized. You have like a reinvigorated spirit around all of this, around life. And that is kind of what first dates can give you. That spark, like that feeling of first falling in love, the feeling of being a alive for the first time in a long time. Like all of that comes from all of these things that you can do, that you can initiate, that you can send.
when in this first date phase. So make sure as like the third pillar to this, make sure you're sending that just wanted to make sure you got home safely, had a great time with you. Text. Even if you even if you didn't have a great time with them, like by the way, I want you to still send this text that says like, just wanted to make sure you got home safe, like really nice to meet you, or whatever it was. Maybe just send the wanted to make sure you got home safe. Like let me or let me know when you get home safe. Perfect. Let me not like overcomplicate it.
Let me know when you get you when you get home safe is the perfect thing to send if you're not into another date. That is just a good guy thing to do. Sending a text like that, making sure somebody got home safe. Even if it doesn't work out with this person, you leave them with the feeling that like, you were a good person, you know? Even if this isn't the end, this isn't the person you end up being with forever, they kind of have this feeling that like you were good. And you leave it feeling that way too. And this is like a thing called dating karma, you can call it.
Where you can you can give yourself either good dating karma or bad dating karma by the actions you take and by the things that you do. Sending that text saying, Let me know when you got home safe is like a point in that good dating karma bucket. Not sending it is kinda like the like in the bad dating one. It's like, that's something that y I could be doing or not in the bad, it's in the middle ground. Like a I could be doing that, I should be doing that. And if I do, it makes me a better person and it makes me a better guy and
I just kind of believe that like you sending that like type of thing out into the wor into the world, like doing the right thing, like the right things come back to the people that do the right things. And I I do believe that. I really do. I believe that when you do good things, good things happen back to you. It kind of manifests in ways that you may not see or understand or think about in the moment. But when you look back at them, it's like, okay, maybe what I did, maybe the actions I took

actually did influence the outcome of all of this. Maybe the good thing I did that felt minimal that felt like that I didn't even need to do it, but I did it anyway because I wanted to and it I never saw any payback from it actually did have payback from it. Or you just do it because you feel like good about it. It makes you feel good and it makes the person feel good and like all of those things. So send the text set just letting a asking them if they got home safe. It's an easy, quick thing to do and you're probably already on your way back anyway. You're probably still thinking about them. So just send that. It's easy and it's nice.
That I would say is the third pillar to this. So, as just like a refresh of the one, two, three, the three things I want you to remember going into a first date or any date is confirming the date before the morning of at 10 a.m. sometime around there, confirming, making sure you're still on, letting them know you're looking forward to it. I think the phrasing of like looking forward to seeing you tonight is really nice. and they're like, Me? You looking forward to seeing me? You know, like that's that's good.
the second one is asking questions on the date, and that is the best way to ease nerves and tension and create conversation, ask questions. And the third one is asking and making sure they got home safe and following up by asking on another date. Thou those are those those are the three things to remember. Everything else is beneficial and great and will help you navigate all of this, but it's extra. Those are the three things that I want you to remember and the three things I want you to take away from this.
And take away into your next date, whenever that is. If it's tomorrow, if it's next day, if it's next week, if it's next month, whenever it is, come back to this episode and use it as a refresher whenever you're going on a date. Come laugh along and listen and hear what I'm saying. Cause I think it will make you feel better going into the date. It will make you feel more confident going into the date. And I think that this is a really valuable episode to listen to whenever you're about to go on a date. And if you are, I hope you have a great date. And thanks for listening.
