Why I Started Guyset (And Why It Still Feels Necessary)
There wasn’t a place to go for the questions you don’t know how to ask. So I built one.

There wasn’t a place I could go when I had a real question.
Not alwayw a big one and not always a crisis, although sometimes.
Mostly just kind of moment where you stop and think:
what am I supposed to do here?
And I'm sure you've definitely had that moment.
When you're in the middle of a conversation or staring at your phone, or replaying something in your head again, and again.
And it’s not dramatic enough to call someone about.
But it’s enough that you can’t ignore it.
What do I text her after I get her number?
Do I follow up or give it space?
Am I overthinking this, or is something actually off?
Why do I feel behind right now?
Those kinds of questions.
The ones that don’t seem big from the outside,
but feel bigger when you’re the one in it.
And every time I looked for answers, it felt like I was landing in one of two places.
Either generic advice that could apply to anyone.
Or content that felt like it was talking about guys, not to you.
That’s where Guyset started.
The Gap I Couldn’t Ignore
I started Guyset because I couldn’t find a place that actually spoke to guys going through things in real time.
Dating.
Getting ghosted.
What to text.
What to wear.
How to feel more confident.
How to stop overthinking.
How to navigate your 20s when nothing feels as clear as you thought it would.
You’ve probably tried to look this stuff up before.
And it either feels too surface-level,
or too polished to actually be useful in the moment.
There are platforms that cover pieces of this.
There are creators doing great work.
But there wasn’t one place built around the actual questions you’re asking while you’re in it.
Not the highlight version.
Not the after-the-fact reflection.
The in-between.
The moment where you pause and think,
what do I do now?
If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in that loop, you’ve probably also felt what I talk about in How Do You Stop Overthinking Everything, those moments where your head gets louder than the situation.
This Isn’t Expert Advice
This is the part that matters most.
Guyset isn’t built on the idea that I have all the answers.
It’s built on the opposite.
I’m not an expert.
I’m just going through it too.
And you can feel the difference.
Because most advice sounds like it’s coming from someone who already figured everything out.
It’s clean.
It’s structured.
It sounds right.
But when you’re actually in the moment, it doesn’t always help.
Because your situation is different.
Your timing is different.
The person you’re dealing with is different.
Research from Mayo Clinic shows that overthinking and self-monitoring in social situations can increase anxiety and make decision-making harder.
Guyset is built on sharing what I’ve actually experienced, what I’ve tried, what worked, what didn’t, and what I learned from it.
Not so you copy it.
But so you have something to work with.
It’s For The Moments You Don’t Know What To Do
Most of life isn’t made up of big decisions.
It’s made up of small ones.
What do I say here?
Do I follow up or give space?
Is this a good sign or a bad one?
Am I overthinking this or trusting my gut?
You’ve been in those moments.
Where you pause for a second too long.
Where you reread a message five times.
Where you wish you could just see how someone else would handle it.
That’s what Guyset is built for.
Not when everything is clear.
When it’s not.
When you want advice, but not in a way that feels like someone is telling you what you should do.
You just want to know:
What would someone else do here?
What have they done before?
How did it actually play out?
If that feels familiar, you’d probably also connect with How To Act Confident When You Don’t Feel It because a lot of this comes down to how you show up in those exact moments.
The Small Questions Matter More Than You Think
One of the most popular things on Guyset right now is a question that sounds almost too simple:
What do I text her after I get her number?
You’ve probably typed something like that before.
Not because it’s a huge decision.
But because it’s happening in real time.
And you don’t want to mess it up.
That’s the point.
It’s not always the big questions that throw you off.
It’s the small ones that happen in real time, where you have to make a decision without really knowing what the “right” move is.
Those moments add up.
They shape how things go.
They shape how you feel.
They shape your confidence over time.
Research from Psychology Today often highlights how small social decisions compound into long-term confidence patterns.
Not Telling You What To Do. Showing You What’s Possible
There’s a difference between advice and perspective.
Advice tells you what to do.
Perspective shows you how someone else thought about it.
Guyset leans into perspective.
Here’s what I did.
Here’s what I was thinking.
Here’s what I learned from it.
Take what helps.
Ignore what doesn’t.
Apply it however you want.
Because your situation is your situation.
Different person.
Different timing.
Different context.
The goal isn’t to give you a script.
It’s to help you build your own.
This idea is backed by research from Harvard Business Review, which often emphasizes learning through real-world experience over rigid frameworks.
Why It Still Feels Necessary
If anything, this feels more relevant now than when I started.
Because there’s more content than ever.
More opinions.
More advice.
More noise.
And somehow, it’s still hard to find something that actually feels like it understands where you’re at.
You’ve probably felt that too.
Scrolling, searching, reading,
and still not finding something that actually helps in the moment you’re in.
Guyset is meant to cut through that.
What Guyset Actually Is
At its core, it’s simple.
Guyset is a place for the questions you don’t always know where to ask.
It’s for dating.
For confidence.
For mindset.
For style.
For the in-between moments that don’t come with instructions.
It’s built on real experiences, not perfect ones.
And it exists to give you something to work with when you’re figuring things out.
So What’s The Point?
You’re not always going to know what to do.
That’s normal.
That’s most of it.
The goal isn’t to eliminate that feeling.
It’s to make it easier to navigate.
To feel a little more clear.
A little more grounded.
A little less like you’re guessing in the dark.
Guyset isn’t here to give you perfect answers.
It’s here to make things clearer when they feel confusing.
Because most of the time, you’re not as lost as you think you are.
You just don’t have a place to think it through.
