Welcome to Guy's Set, the guy's guide to what you should be talking about. I'm Josh, I'm 23 years old, and I'm here to find all the tips, advice, and recommendations for guys in their 20s. Let's get into it.
Josh Felgoise (00:17.87)
Hi guys, welcome back to guys set the guys guide to what should be talked about. This episode is a bunch of new features or new sections that I have been thinking about incorporating into the podcast that I wanted to test out with a full episode. But realistically they would be like sections at the end of episodes or beginning of episodes and then talk about the actual topic. These would be the type of things that I would do at the beginning of a month or the end of the month.
I used to do them on my website and I'll start doing them again and they'll become articles that will be a part of the newsletter, which is actually dropping tonight because over here, it was supposed to drop last week, but over here at Geist HQ, we're always changing. We're always iterating. It's a huge team here. It's literally just me. And you know, sometimes things don't get done that are supposed to get done that I wanted to do, but other stuff comes up and sometimes I don't get what I want to get done. And that's why it's called goals. You don't complete every single goal, but you'd maybe do next week. But,
Tonight you can check your email and there will actually be a newsletter from guys set that you will see. Thank you to everybody that has subscribed so far. If you still want to subscribe, I would love if you did. you can, yeah, obviously I'd love if you did, but you can go to the website, guyset.com, G U I S E T.com. Same name as the podcast with a.com at the end and, put your name and email at the top of the website to get the newsletter to your inbox. So what the newsletter will actually feature is what I'm going to be talking about today on this episode.
They're topics that I'll be bringing on here, but also be writing about in a little bit of a longer form. So it's like a supplementary addition to what I'll be talking about on the podcast. Uh, and again, there'll be, you'll, you'll hear these segments recurring either at like the beginning of an episode or an end of an episode where it's just a solo episode. won't put them in front of a guest or something, but you'll hear them and they will either be things I'm calling guyset guides. So just like a guide or guyset recs recommendations this week, all the guyset guides are gift guides.
So it's gift guides for what to buy. I'm just calling it like him and her because you can like, you can buy the same thing you're buying for your girlfriend, for your sister. If you want to buy something for your friend, you can also probably buy it for your brother. Like this stuff is universal stuff. It's not too specific. Maybe you can, if you want to get something more spicy for your girlfriend, there's other gift guides. This isn't the one for you. You maybe, maybe find something that's like a little, a little less spicy. You can also get for your sister, but it's a universal like
Josh Felgoise (02:38.488)
for him, for her, and there's one that's for mom and for dad. So it's four gift guides that'll be dropping tonight. If you're subscribed, you can check your email. If not, you can go on the website and find them. Or if you follow me on Instagram at the guyset, you can see them on my stories or tomorrow I'll be posting them. But these are, these were like a collaboration of stuff that you guys sent to me. I did an Instagram story last week. I was like, what to buy for blank and people submitted like, buy for a coworker, buy for.
Um, my mom and like they submitted a price with it. So the gift guides will go in order of price from like lowest to highest. Um, and people wanted expensive things and people wanted cheap things and we're going to talk about it. So let's start. Oh, and there's another section that is called working on it, which I'm really excited about. It's something I used to do at the beginning and end of every month. I did it for myself. And then I also started putting it out publicly on the website and I'm to start doing it again because it's kind of like a set of like goals or resolutions.
for myself that I, I set at the top of every month and I'm starting to do it again this month. And I like doing it now. And I liked it. It's in December because when the new year comes around, everyone's like, like I want to set a new year's resolution to like sleep more. That's like too big of a goal, right? You don't ever actually get to do that. So instead it'd be like, I want to go to bed a little earlier this month and try and fix my sleep because I'm not getting enough sleep. instead of having like a big
statement of like, want to eat healthier or I want to lose weight or I want to get a new job. It's kind of like a minor stepping stone or something you can do in order to get to that bigger goal, which I think is way better than setting a huge lofty goal that you'll never get to. It's kind of like a piece of that goal. So I'll run you through that. Actually, maybe I'll start there. Cause I like that section a lot. So this new section is called working on it. And it is, it features three things that I, one thing I'm
let me, let me, let me, let me backtrack. This new section is called, but, but, but, but, but, but, but, working on it featuring Josh, me, guy set, and it features three things and I'm picking one thing from each top. Hold on. I'm not explaining this well. I didn't practice this. As you can tell, I wrote it out in my notes app a couple of nights ago and I was like, this is going to be good. so let me backtrack. This is actually just called working on it.
Josh Felgoise (05:01.088)
And I'm picking one thing from each topic to focus on. So the three topics are what I'm working on, which is in parentheses new, what I've worked on. And that's like something I've been successful at. it's kind of like a, like a celebratory thing that I'm, I'm proud of that I got accomplished or I've been doing well. And then what I'm still working on to something that I set previously that was unsuccessful or I haven't succeeded at. So the first one, what I'm working on in parentheses new. So just what I'm working on, can go with that.
So I've talked a lot on here about dating in a bunch of episodes. And one way that I've found a bunch of dates in New York or wherever you are for me, it's been, it's New York. You know that if you've been listening for a minute now, is through hinge or a dating app. use hinge. think Tinder's like a little trashy for me and I haven't tried Bumble. So I've just, the hinge is the one that like all my friends have talked about and I started using. So one thing for me is hinge has been successful, but only when I respond, you know what I mean? So you can match with a ton of people.
but it only works if you keep the conversation going. I like in my mind, I separate texting and hinge. Texting is two totally different things. If you are on hinge or have hinge on your phone, like you probably understand what I'm saying. I don't consider responding to hinge as, as, imminent as I do. Not imminent. I don't consider responding on hinge as important as responding to texts.
because it just, doesn't even, it just doesn't feel that way. Like it doesn't register in my head that like, these are real people because you haven't met them before. They're literally, they're literally online strangers until you meet them. You only seen their like pictures or something. So I got a response on hinge or somebody liked me on hinge, like maybe a year ago, I'd be like, Ooh, like I got like a new like, and then like immediately go respond and like, and, and texts. And I'm not even playing hard to get when I'm saying this, I just like, don't associate responding so fast on hinges. I used to.
And I want to be better about that because if I want to go on more dates and meet new people, you have to respond and keep that going. And I've been really bad about that. And like days or weeks have gone by because in my head, I'm like, well, if I'm not free in the next couple of days, why should I respond to this person and set like a date for like a week out? That's not going to continue. So I want to be better about responding on hinge. And that's just something for me. So I wrote being a better hinge, texter, responder, LL.
Josh Felgoise (07:24.758)
So many missed opportunities by just being shit at texting. And that's just how I feel about that. So I want to be better at that. So that's my what I'm working on. And I do feel like I've missed a lot of a lot of opportunities by just like two weeks have gone by and I'm like, well, fuck that one. That one slipped through the cracks and maybe I'll follow up and it'll maybe reopen that reopen that cage. But otherwise, it's not it's like it's just it's like a lost connection. And that sucks. But there's a lot of fish in the sea. So it's OK. It's just something I want to work on.
And then each month that goal will change and it will either fall into the category of the next one, what I've worked on successfully or what I'm still working on is unsuccessful. So it'll either fall into those two categories or it will just fall out because it maybe won't be as prior. It won't be as much of a priority for me as it was the last month. but that's something that I want to prioritize more and be better at. So that's that goal of what I'm working on. And you can take this model and follow it pretty simply. You could also do this every single week. It doesn't have to be monthly.
I'm just doing it monthly because I don't know. I'm just that that's what I decided to do. But you can do this weekly. Like I, I recommend that actually, because then it's easier to make these goals happen and follow them. And I might personally do this weekly, but at least publicly right now I'm to do it. I'm to do it monthly because this is, this will be like an annoying, boring segment if I do it every, every week. So what I've worked on successfully is I wrote down consistently getting my ass to the gym. And a quick note on why I'm saying that I wrote it down and why I'm reading exactly what I wrote is because
I want to emphasize that writing this down actually makes it real. And if you just have this like goal or thing you want to accomplish in your head and not actually on paper, it's much easier to forget. And if you're seeing it every day or seeing it once a week or whenever you're setting this goal for, it's much easier to make it happen. So that's why I'm telling you exactly what I wrote down. So for this one specifically, this is something that I wanted to, I really focused on for the past couple of months is going to the gym in the morning. did an older episode called
gym confidence. People thought that title was very funny. also looking back, I it's very funny and probably would have named it like if you're nervous about going to the gym, here's what you should do. Maybe I'll read, maybe I'll retitle that. Um, but I, in the beginning of going to the gym was like super nervous about it and being around people who are much bigger than you lifting much heavier weights, uh, can just be super intimidating and scary and nerve wracking, especially when you're lifting 25 pound weight 20. Who am I?
Josh Felgoise (09:50.286)
Who am I trying to impress? In the beginning, I was lifting like 20, 20 pound weights. I just flexed into the camera and I wanted to apologize publicly for that before that gets out. Um, but in the beginning, I was lifting much lighter weights than most of the people at the gym and it was just a very intimidating place to be. But I knew that going to the gym was really good for me mentally and physically, obviously, but mentally it really, really helps me. And I feel like I'm so much more productive and my day is so much better.
when I've gone to the gym at some point and I've gotten in some sort of movement, whether it's lifting, whether it's running, walking, uh, doing a hit workout, doing some sort of class. Like I just feel better and I'm more successful in my day or I feel more successful at least, uh, mentally, physically, emotionally. And I knew going to the gym really helped me. So it took me a while to get past that intimidation factor and that like fear factor of it, but I've been really successful about it. And I've gone.
like four or five times a week, and I'm really proud of myself for that. So, I think it's really important to acknowledge when you do something that you're happy with, like when you've been successful in practicing something and getting something into a routine and, building that into your day. And you've been good about it. So I think you should like reward yourself by this type of thing, like writing down or saying out loud or writing in your notes that you've been successful and you're happy with that. Like that's a good thing to acknowledge your success. So.
That's what I've worked on successfully. And now that I've built myself up, it's time to bring myself right back down. what I've, what I'm still working on unsuccessfully is in parentheses. I wrote getting more sleep. And this is what I talked about in the beginning. Like, this is something that I've been working on for months. And one of my first episodes was called tips for improving your sleep. And I follow some of those tips. I do still write a lot at night, but I've fallen out on a lot of those things that I implemented or tried to implement for myself.
Like reading at night instead of endlessly scrolling tick-tock and just being mindless about the time I'm spending on my phone or YouTube shorts or any of the other excuses that are the exact same thing as tick-tock Instagram reels like all of that stuff I've gotten really bad about that and just fallen into a bad habit of being on my phone at night right before I go to bed or watching TV or just watching something and I know that's bad for my sleep and it's It keeps me up later than I want to be up and I've just fallen really badly into that habit and
Josh Felgoise (12:12.022)
I'm realizing now that what I actually wrote for this getting more sleep is contradictory to what I said in the beginning of don't put something like some big lofty goal like that. Exactly that. on your thing instead, put something which I'm going to change the goal to like getting embedded in an earlier time, because that's something you can actually implement and actually do getting more sleep is a harder, bigger thing to do, but getting in bed earlier, something I actively can change starting tonight.
that will help me get to that bigger goal. So that's the new one is, getting embedded earlier time. So those are the three, my three, what, I forgot the section name already. Those are my three, what I'm working or working on it. I called it. Those are my three working on it. And you can add this to your beginning of the month. You can literally take a post-it note, a note card, your notes app, and write these three things out and try them out and see.
what you want to work on, what you have worked on and what you still need to work on and follow them. So that's the first section and I will include this in much shorter ways in other or next episodes, maybe in a month or so at the beginning of the month and tell you what I'm working on. And you can do it at the same time I'm doing it and we can kind of do it together and be like accountability partners in that. And I'd love if you want to share your working on it's with me. I'd love to hear what they are. So you can either.
I'm going to put something on my story tomorrow of like share your things and I'd love to see them. So please share them with Instagram story. So please share them with me and let's make it happen. Okay. So that's the first section of the episode working on it. think or working what I'm working on. I fuck. What did I call it? Hold on working on it. Okay. That's the first section. The next section is the guy set guides and this month, obviously it's December and everyone needs to buy gifts for everybody in their life.
So the guys that guides for this month are gift guides. So let's get into it. We're going to start with, which was, this was the most polarizing topic and the one that I needed the most help on was gifts for her or gifts for girls. So let's start there. And I hope you're still here. I'm sorry if that last section was a little bit mumble jumbled. I think I thought it would sound better in my head than it did. I, I, maybe I should have practiced it, but I think it sounds more natural when I come on here and I don't like read through something or I don't practice it. so this is the first time I'm doing it.
Josh Felgoise (14:31.788)
Your first is always a little messy. So next time it'll be a lot better, but this, this time I think sounded a little messy and I hope it was okay. So anyway, back to gifts for girls or gifts for her gift guides for her. So this was the most, distressing section for me because I don't currently have a girlfriend. do have a sister. So I'm, I was looking like shopping for her a bit. but some of the people asked for, gifts for girlfriends and
I initially recommended a piece of jewelry, but my jewelry, hard word to say, but my, feedback I got on jewelry was that it's very hard to buy something for a girl unless you know the piece of jewelry, unless you know what she wants exactly. So the feedback I got from the girl followers or female followers, shout out to everybody that is listening. That is a female, let's shout out to the female followers.
I just had awkward now. Okay was that don't buy jewelry For her unless you know exactly what she wants because otherwise she'll either feel like she has to wear it because you bought it and she may not even like it or She's not gonna like it and then not wear it and you spend a lot of money on it So either run it by her friends or a sibling or somebody that you know that she's close enough with or run it by her or ask her directly what she wants
jewelry wise instead of just buying something that you think is nice. That was really good feedback that I got. I'm just going to look through the other gift, the other stuff that people said for girls, right on my stories. So what somebody said, what I really liked was if you're going to spend a lot of money, buy an experience that you can both have together. So that's either going to a concert, to a sports event, it's probably more for you than for her, but unless she's a sports girl, then pop off sports girl.
But going to a concert going to like some sort of show some sort of cooking class I'm thinking of other experiential things as I'm sitting here right now Cooking class Dance class I've heard couples massage, know really get yourself in there but like something or like a little trip or just like something experiential that you can both do together that Like you also get yourself a gift like that's cool. So that was
Josh Felgoise (16:53.198)
a really good piece of advice I got. Another one was if you're looking to spend more money on your girlfriend or girl in your life. What I've heard is that if you've been in relationship for a long time, you got to spend like the more money as the relationship goes on. And a lot of people said that a Dyson Airwrap is a great gift because it's really expensive and girls won't usually buy it for themselves. But if you've been in relationship for a long time, like maybe that's a great gift for you. It's the thing for your hair. It's the Dyson Airwrap and not
The vacuum, even though I've heard the vacuums are also great. So no, don't get, don't get a vacuum that don't get a vacuum. That's not, that's not the right gift. Make sure you get the hair thing. Like if you're going to get for that, go for that, get the hair thing. Okay. Also pajamas is a good gift for a girlfriend. I'm going to say like 10 suggestions for each gender. gender, I don't want to get canceled. Okay. I'm going to say 10 gifts for each. So that's like,
Around 10, I'm just gonna, I'm going to estimate what I'm going to say. And then the rest will be in the gift guide that will be in the newsletter or on the website or on mainstream, whatever I said, that was a rally already. So other stuff to get for a girlfriend is pajamas. the, brand Eber J someone recommended Eber J maybe it's called that somebody likes. that would be good. Somebody said,
Somebody said to check their Pinterest boards. Apparently a lot of girls have Pinterest boards and you can get a friend to find a Pinterest board and see what they like on there. It feels like we're really getting into like all their secrets and you know, that's the point of this. We're trying to find everything and, and learn about them because they're confusing. It's a confusing gender. We were trying to get it, get, get into their brains. So use their friends as much as you can to find a good gift for them. What else? This person said,
to avoid steer clear of jewelry unless you have input from their friends slash they've explicitly said something they like. I said, and I responded, this would be helpful. This is helpful, would suck if.
Josh Felgoise (18:57.45)
Yeah, this would be helpful would suck to spend a ton of money on something they pity like lol. So Be careful on jewelry. somebody else said The ice roller from the skinny confidential is a good one girls like the ice roller. My sister loves this too. This is a good gift and if you're confused what it is, I wrote down it's for your face. Relax. It de-puffs your face So if you're ever looking like a puffer fish post hangover this tool is a godsend And it's like sticking your face in ice but in handheld form. It's a really good gift
You also probably want to use it yourself. So get that. a weighted blanket. And that's another good gift. another, another person said a class packed for their favorite workout class. but only if you know, they'll want it and not just think you're telling them to hit the gym. Yeah. Don't tell them to the gym, but if they are like into like a workout class or something, maybe get them a couple like classes to that. That's a really nice gift. And then
I had written out a bunch of other stuff too. So I think a nice gift is like a beanie or like gloves or a scarf, like some shoes they want. They're like slippers or Uggs. But I also think like at this point, we're all like old enough that you can just kind of like ask people what they want or like start dropping hints for like, like, do you like that? And see what they say. I think we're old enough at the point that like, it doesn't have to be like a such a big surprise on what you get somebody. and you want people to like what they're getting. So I think you can ask.
Just be like, Hey, like, what you think of this blanket? And they're like, like then you're like, okay, so I'm not kicking her blanket this year, but I think we're at an age where people want to get, like, if you want to gift, if you want to buy a gift, you can ask them. And also a lot of the gifts that I've currently said are in the more expensive range, like this Dyson hair wrap, air wrap, whatever it's called is a super expensive gift. Like don't explicitly think you have to get a super expensive gift for a girl in your life. Or, I mean, that's specifically for the good girlfriend. That's the, that's one of the biggest.
gifts that I was recommended to get somebody. but like, I don't think you need to spend that, that much money on that's so much money. So obviously be conscious and I think you should spend the same amount. Like this is for guys and girls, like girlfriend and boyfriend. think you guys should spend the same amount on each other. Like, I don't think you need to blow your wallet on something. just because you think they'll like it. Like you can just get something like nice. You don't have to get like pay for dinner, get flowers.
Josh Felgoise (21:20.15)
Like an experience doesn't have to be that expensive. Take her ice skating, go do something that you guys have been talking about for a while. Like maybe like a pottery class or something that you've both talked about. I don't know who's talking about a pottery class, but if you are amazing, like a paint and pour, like go pay for something that you, you, you usually wouldn't do. Maybe a nice bottle of wine with it. Like you can make a gift super nice. It doesn't have to be super expensive. and if it's meaningful to you and to her, then
That's all that matters. You don't have to spend so much money on something. Um, like a nice water bottle or something that it's like, I just looked at this water bottle. That's why I said it. I'm gonna have a sip of water. You can get something that won't blow the bank without that. That is also super nice and that she'll also really love. So don't think you have to spend that much money on a gift. Um, I also think it can be super absurd when the gifts get higher and higher and then you're just like competing from the last year. Like don't compete against yourself. Just get something that you think she'll like.
And if she doesn't, like, it's too bad. Like, there's, be more holidays. And if there won't, then like, it wasn't meant to be.
Okay, so on to the gift guide for guys if you're listening and you don't know what to buy guys in your life We're a simple creature. We're we're simple men at the end of the day New shoes is always a good one right now I'm liking vejas pronounced or spelled vejas if you're looking for a new shoe to buy Like a hundred hundred fifty dollar white white shoe white shoe that you can wear to work. We're going out I think any guy would like those
As I said, like a new hat, a new beanie, a new like new gloves. That's something that I never know where any of that is. And I can always use that stuff. A new, like I think shopping for guys clothes, I think it's something we would always appreciate. Um, we don't shop that well. I'm speaking broadly for men. Like some men are really great at it. And don't mean to speaking broadly for men, all men. I think a lot of guys would appreciate you getting them a clothing item. So I recommend like a bomber jacket or just like a light.
Josh Felgoise (23:23.148)
jacket to wear going out, maybe an over shirt or a new flannel or a new pair of pants, or maybe that's hard because you don't like sizes. That's confusing. Maybe stay on top. like a flannel or a new jacket would be something that I would always appreciate. and like, it's nice when somebody buys you something and then you remember where it came from. And like, I think that's good. Like get a piece of clothing, get new shoes, get something that they've been talking about.
Uh, the comfy is also a really great gift that falls in the category of blanket. feel like anybody would like a new blanket. So the comfy is like this huge, like blanket sweatshirt. Anybody would love this. If you don't know, just get somebody in your life, get them that it's always a great gift. A wallet is a great gift. Just had on Matt's beard bar on last two, like two episodes ago. And it's this thing to clean the beard trimmings in your sink. Great gift. If you don't know what to get a guy in your life. Uh, if you're a girl listening to have a boyfriend that shaves in the sink and leaves a mess everywhere.
great gift. It's literally telling them to clean up their shit without being annoying about it. And it's just like a funny gift. Amazon Alexa, always a good gift. I use my Alexa every day. I literally when I'm not in a room with her, she's like, it's kind of like my mistress. But if I'm not in room with her, I'm like, Alexa, what's the weather? And like, I'm like, where'd she go? That's a great gift. I have like an attachment issue with my Alexa. I think she'd be perfect for anybody. She said she's just the woman of the woman of the people.
like a cocktail shaker or a cocktail set is always a good gift. A new, new something for the kitchen, like new kitchen knives, new pots or pans is a good gift. like an air fryer, a cutting board. These are, these are all like something usable is also a really good gift. If they golf something for golf, like if they play like a sport, something for that sport, I think is also a great gift. and guys also like experiences too. I was talking about things for girlfriends cause girls are really hard to buy. I'm a guy and I'm saying that girls are hard to buy for.
just from previous experience, but guys like experiences too. Like we're not that hard. We're not that, we're not that, we're not that like intense, like nobody's going to be so upset if with a gift. if you don't know what to get, get them tickets to a concert or a game or something that they want to go to, or something that you want to go to that we'll just also go to. think anything that like, listen for like previous conversations or things people are talking about, maybe people are dropping hints.
Josh Felgoise (25:44.27)
I looked through a ton of the gift guides online in doing research for this episode and in doing research for my own gift guide to, you know, steal other ideas. and the, like my, my biggest takeaway from it was these are all like good, simple gifts, but some of the best stuff is things that you've talked about or things that are going to be useful to that person. Things that you think would help them or they would like, those are always the best gifts. And like at end of the day.
People aren't that simple and if you put some thought into it, then it's going to be good. Gift buying is really hard. buying can be really hard, but like don't make it too over complicated. Don't stress yourself out over it. If they don't like it, like maybe get a gift receipt and call it a day. Like don't, don't stress yourself out so much. If the person likes you enough, I hope they do. Then they'll like whatever you get them. Gift guides number three and four are for
Mom and so those gifts are also for like siblings and stuff. Like your siblings don't really give a fuck. Like get them some, something that like a piece of clothes or if it's a guy, get them something for gaming or some like alcohol. Like people are simple. Don't chess yourself out. Okay. So the next ones are for mom and for dad. These are hard ones. Buying for your parents can be so difficult because like, what do you get them?
They've they've they're supposed to get you gifts. Like what do you get them? so I've put together a ton of ideas for your mom and for your dad. So starting with mom, my mom loves, and I'm going to give a couple, I'll probably like five each and then the rest will be in the gift guides. The gift guides will be like 15 to 20 items. And at the least, hopefully they'll inspire you into getting something that you think they'll like. So
My mom loves her Ember mug. This is like, it's a mug that keeps things hot. Like maybe like a Yeti or a new, the Stanley cup that you've seen a lot, not, not the hockey cup, the Stanley other cup that you've seen. was this huge like marketing campaign around it that not marketing campaign, this woman's car literally burned and her Stanley cup remained and there was still ice in it. And it's just a great gift for anybody. I think your mom would love it. And this Ember mug that I was just talking about.

My siblings and I got her a little while back and she loves it. So that's a great gift. think you should get something with your siblings. don't think you have to all get, if you have siblings, if you're an individual, if you're an only child, like you're on your own kid, sorry. Uh, but otherwise I think you should go in with your siblings. Don't put all the pressure on yourself. She loves that also an arrow garden that she can like garden in home and start growing like little like plants, mint, uh, other plants, parsley. I forget what else.
Is on there. there's ton of options. That's also really nice gift. Amazon Alexa, like I said before, great for like the kitchen or for anywhere else. didn't, I don't, I'm not assuming that your mom was in the kitchen, but it's also just a good like to have like a timer that you can, I'm really just getting myself canceled out here on this episode. I'm not trying to, but I'm, I am. also another gift if you want to get in like with your siblings is a massage for your mom. That's nice. Go send her to get a massage. And then
for your dad, I think you can get him a, there's like a Theragun or a Theragun mini is a nice gift. There's also a bunch of these subscription services. So we got my dad this thing called Dr. Pickle, I think, where basically once a month for the next year, he gets a like pickle of the month. So there's like these like of the month clubs, like blank of the month. So whatever they like, if it's like alcohol, if it's beer, if it's pickles in my dad's scenario.
If it's like a sauce of some sort, there's like a bunch of these clubs I think that's a really good gift because it gives you something exciting to look forward to each month If they golf get them something golf related Again, if they play a sport something like for that sport is also really great. What else for you dad another experience thing? I think that's really nice get them tickets to a game or to a concert or something that you guys have been talking about Pay for dinner get him a new wallet some again something that's just gonna be useful in his everyday life something for his desk
dads are simple. I don't think they're going to overcomplicate anything. I think they'll appreciate that you thought of them in any sense. So I think they'll appreciate it. We also always get my dad like clothes. We get him a lot of like Lululemon stuff and he likes that new sneakers, new shoes. Again, guys are simple. So just like don't overthink that. And then the rest of this is all, as I said, in the gift guides. So you can find the rest of that. And I'm adding a fifth one because this is also a really hard one. Coworker for like a secret Santa.
Josh Felgoise (30:16.086)
or something in the office or for anybody, have to get like a white elephant gift for get a cookbook. That's super easy. think anybody can use a cookbook. I don't cook that much, but I would appreciate that. Cause then I would actually have some recipes to follow. So get a cookbook or something for their desk, like a gag gift, like a funny mug from Etsy or an actual helpful mug. or like a funny t-shirt, or if they cook or bake, get them something for the kitchen. If they like coffee, get them something coffee related, like a new matcha kit or a new like.
cold press coffee thing, get a board game, a hat, a beanie. I've talked about that a lot. I've said those for everybody, but again, they're like always something that everybody would like. Don't get a gift card. Just don't be that guy. Don't be the gift card guy for anybody for in any sense. If you're going to get somebody a gift, don't get a gift card. And if you are going to get a gift card, just get them cash. That's lovely. Anybody would want cash as well. If you have any other gift recommendations or suggestions, let me know.
I would love to hear them. You can reach out to me at the guys set T H E G U I S E T on Instagram or Tik TOK. I hope these suggestions were helpful or at least inspired you to think of something that you want to get for somebody that you've been struggling with.
and again, don't, don't put too much pressure on it that people aren't that intense about gifts. And again, let me know if you try that, working on it, suggestion of kind of setting goals for the month. I think it's cool to set resolutions or like goals before you're supposed to set those resolutions next month for the new year, new year resolutions, do them a month before, because then you can actually get a headstart on them and actually start making them happen and being productive and successful in what you want to do.
